Hesketh doing a passable impression of Locutus of Borg.

Unfortunately, trying to effect regime change via air is futile.

Listening to Hegseth just now, it really sounds like they're pivoting away from "regime change" now . . . stopping development of nuclear weapons seems to have taken precedence and they don't want the body bags piling up 'cos Donny ain't got any different hats

One strategic aspect I can't understand but to me it seems what Trũmp/Netanyahu have done is to convince Iran they really do need a nuclear weapons and that US/Israel is a major threat to them. But they've also learnt that they need to take a lot more care about Israeli intelligence operatives so would be needing distractions, dummy installations, etc.

Certainly having had a deal torn-up by US, having been through negotiations and then suffered an attack just after they'd apparently been compromising, they'll have learnt that there really isn't much point in negotiating and talking as it's just a prelude to being attacked.

To me it seems likely long term security for Israel, US, etc. have been damaged with this war.

Unless they are going in with mining equipment to recover that enriched uranium from where they buried it in July, they achieve nothing.

Indeed... and in the face of this arguable betrayal and all-out assault; is it even in Israel / the US's ability to stop this war?

Now that Iran has been subject to the full brunt of US / Israeli aggression they have less incentive to back down and may just choose to keep hitting their enemies even if they try to call time. This is a war driven by religious extremism and hatred on both sides, while it seems those in charge want a holy war so why not just drop the facade of civility (or rather refuse to recover it from where it lies trampled on the ground) and get on with it..?

Wouldn't surprise me if the regime in Iran refuses an ivitiation to cease fire, while even if this does happen it seems assured that both Israel and the US have assured themselves many future decades of terrorist atrocities.

Iran have already rejected the suggestion of a ceasefire.

You can't throw an unwarranted punch then say ceasefire.

Guess he's seen the polling. I wonder when Badenoch will take her eyes off X long enough to realise.
It's a bit more what the word tricky, he is not saying we shouldn't participate because he doesn't agree with the goal he is trying to make the case that participating isn't really possible because our military is too weak. And off course he has the plans to make it all great again. Trump really hates him for some reason...
