I don't think it is as simple as that.
True. This is not like an old western film where the good guys wear white hats while the baddies wear black hats.

But, but, Donnie & Pete assured us the US had blown up bigly, obliterated, totally annihilated and eliminated Irans nuclear capability weeks ago. (More than once, IIRC). Yet they keep popping like high street vape shops and nail bars.Islamic regime nuclear production facilities hit, heavy water and uranium plant destroyed
I think you'll find it's the Islamic regime causing genocide.
Only a couple of months ago they murdered 50,000 Iranian people who protested.
Inflated numbers but that’s their own regime in their own country. It’s not anything to do with us. Unless you pretend it is as an excuse for other reasons.

I find my Jewish friends are no problems at all.
Look what Islam has done to the west
There is credible evidence the rioting in January was instigated from outside. Mossad admitted to fomenting unrest. Mike Pompeo also confirmed.
It’s the reason the Iranian Govt came down hard on rioters. Who can blame them after the attacks of 2025.
He said Zionism. Not Jewish. The two are not the same. Or, are you a closet anti-Semitic who can’t tell the difference.
I would say they had set back their nuclear project. Its going to take regime change to halt it
It is complicated.
The Zan, Zendegui, Azadi protests against the head cover were also brutally repressed. However, they bore fruit in that the regime sort of gave up enforcing hejab mandates, and many women are not really following the mandate any more.
The protests at the beginning of this year were due to the economic situation, and had a much wider base, including many people who had been indifferent in previous political protests. External interference and the prominence of Pahlavi may have an effect, but I wouldn't overestimate it. The brutality of the repression this time probably had more to do with the protests having a much wider base than before.
You can’t eliminate know how. The Iranians had no intention of nukes due to Khameni’s fatwa. Now, he’s gone, there are vociferous calls to develop them to avoid these attacks. And, I’m sure they will.
You’re right it’s more complicated and there are too many factors to list. Many of which were due to corruption and policies of the Govt. But, Israel was aware of this and stirred the hornets nest.
Indeed. The influence of Israel and the US, specially through the diaspora, is quite obvious. How deep it actually goes inside Iranian society is a lot more difficult to gauge. Even within the diaspora, if we take support for Pahlavi as a proxy for Israel/US influence, there are deep rifts showing now that the war effects are becoming more evident.
It is all just terribly sad considering how many missed opportunities there have been in the last thirty years.
