Sorry - I misunderstood. I'd say pretty much his whole life. He's not clever, just rich. He always surrounded himself with sycophants and his ego has always liked being stroked. That sort of person is easy to manipulate.
[apols for pedantry]
There's no way Trump has made millions and got to his position based simply on other people's advice.
To get back to the specifics of this administration, at what point was/is he no longer making the decisions? It's a rhetorical question.
I know the far right/technocrats saw an opportunity in Trump and Trump saw an opportunity to keep his @ss out of prison so he assembled the backers and the sycophants in true Mafia style. Trump did this. No one was telling Trump what to do.
So the question remains. The Trump we saw in 2023/24 is a far cry from the rambling incoherent shitbox wee see now.
In a slight leap forward, the Miller's and the JFK jnrs and the Noem's and the Holman's and Levitt's and the Bondi's and the Vance's have so little street cred and likeability, I think they are still riding Trump's coat tales but for how long because Trump is loosing popularity by the shed load?
