I think this is a repositioning of assets to assist in humanitarian efforts once fighting has definitely stopped.
The risk to Cyprus must now be surely low since it's obvious that the UK is being reasonable compared to the US.

Well, based on how long it took to get to Cyprus, best to get an early start 😊

If anything kicks off, we send some kit into Akrotiri by plane.

Watching the news this evening and it brought home to me the arrogance and naiveté of the US Government when they keep on about how they "are doing this on behalf of the "Rest of the World".

Rest of the World had treaties stopping Iran getting a nuclear weapon, Rest of the World had the Straits fully and freely open then Trūmp and Netanyahu come along, throw a hissy fit, toys out of the pram and Rest of the World thrown into economic ruin 'cos they undid everything from being sorted and they now having problems getting back to even what the Rest of the World previously had sorted.

"Insider reporting from an unnamed source in the White House that the Gaza deal is 95% done. The remaining 5% of negotiations are focused on stopping Israel and Hamas trying to kill each other and Israel withdrawing from the Gaza Strip."

So you've no objection to expel anyone who aligns with this religion and beliefs

It doesn’t matter because many align with their beliefs in the UK but they’re protected by spud fumbling leftists.

So 95% done, except for the part that matters.

Yeah. I've lost count of the amount of times I heard company big wigs tell us that the contract was 95% in the bag, only for it not to be.
The final 5% is the most difficult, and the most important which trumps the previous 95%. (Pun intended).

No. I do not see a peace deal being signed in the immediate future.

To me the daft thing about US attacks during ceasefire and Israel pretty well ignoring the ceasefire is the issue of trust.

For a peace, trust between parties must play an important part and US having attacked mid negotiations (twice) makes any trust so much harder. Israel's increasing attacks into Lebanon must be making any trust so much harder.

Without trust I'd expect Iran to be after far more extensive steps to reduce what they see as threats 'cos they can't trust US/Israel to keep yo the agreed terms.

Does US really want peace?

The answer to your final question is, no.
Even less so for Israel. Who are driving Donnie.
