So I think you were trying to make some spurious link between his Brexit views and whether he made any criticisms at the time of anything that may or may not have been unconstitutional on the Vote Leave side? And presumably you wanted to demonstrate that if he hadn't that it somehow diminished whatever he's saying about the law and the constitution as it relates to the release of the Mandelson files now? But you couldn't be @rsed to look it up so you made do with a lazy insinuation instead? Am I warm?
Anyways, so you think Starmer should release the documents in full as per the Humble Address?

I wasn't trying to link his Brexit views with anything.

I was suggesting (and I'll put my hands up to 'lazy' and 'couldn't be arsed') that his argument with regard to a government's responsibilities in response to a humble address may have changed now he's not at the goverment despatch box as leader of the house

What papers is it you want released?

Personally I'd like to know everything that went on to get him into the NI secretary role* and the very well respected Mo Mowlam out.

* a role providing access to Epstein associates Bill Clinton and George Mitchell.

All those requested relating to his appointment as Ambassador to the US

Thank you for your attention in this matter, I don't really care what you think though.

Very well I think you an idiot.

Flippancy aside. I wasn't offering you my opinion, I was drawing your attention to the Speaker of the House.

I'll try again.

As this is a live investigation, members will understand … it would not be appropriate to make any further comment, and I’d like to caution members from doing so.

If you're going to call someone an idiot it's probably best to check your grammar before hitting the post reply button.

Or at least amend your response completely 15 minutes after posting.

Clearly it was intended as a bit of humour - indicated by ''flippancy aside''.

You rejected this statement from Hoyle out of hand, but he is the Speaker of the House - his word in the chamber is supreme.

When Hoyle says that parliament can't consider it - that's the decision.

The Speaker has advised that he passed information on to the Met before the arrest.
Apparently he spent a week in the BVI recently meeting various representatives so that seems to be where the rumours about Mandy leaving for the BVI seem to have come from.
Really quite "weird" (or maybe "indicative") that Mandelson thinks if and when he's arrested is his choice and not for the Police to even think about. And then he gets upset when the Police take the decision!

I think AMW's nickname might be equally applied to Mandelson by those who displease him - by all reports, if you didn't have something to offer him, he is an arsehole.

I suspect Mandelson's entire career of 'public service' was simply a front to allow him to gain access to other wealthy, self serving b******** that could help him line his pockets.

Which takes us back to my previous comments that he doesn’t seem to have been a very good fit for Labour. I cant see how someone like Brown wanted anything to do with him.

Hired by Bliar though which makes perfect sense.
Maybe he was hard to get rid of?
