Any wonder?

Sorry mate, I've seen some of the sources you quote when you're spamming Trump Derangement Syndrome all over the forum so I don't think you're the right person to be calling me out.

Re: Due Process
Starmer never said that Mandleson passed the vetting. Due Process does not stop vetting results being ignored.

If Starmer's position is now precarious it's not because he knew or didn't. To me it's because making the appointment, etc. shows complete lack of judgement, beyond stupidity and a level of incompetence way worse than we'd expect even from an MP let alone a PM.

I am not calling you out
If you need elaboration, is it any wonder that the news sources you listed were runnning the story?

I mean, the Daily Heil is going to criticise any government unless it's Tory and even when the Tory party is a hapless bunch of useless, self serving incompetents.

Amongst the ones you didn't like I also linked to the BBC. Times Radio also running it and I expect by now it'll be all over every newspaper and news channel, both reputable and disreputable.

Exce[t it's running on the BBC, Sky news, after the story was originally posted by that far right newspaper, The Guardian

Yes but he said on more than one occasion that due process had taken place. Even Ed Davey said that if it was true the PM was not aware Lord Mandelson had failed security vetting, he should have "told Parliament at the earliest opportunity, not waited for the media to force the truth out".
Come on. He's been found out. If he doesn't do the decent thing himself then surely someone behind the scenes will have to have a word with him in a darkened room?

That's different to lying or misleading about the failed vetting though as if, as his spokespeople say, he wasn't aware, then as far as Starmer was concerned due process had been followed. I appreciate the PM's spokespeople will say this, but the line at the moment is that Starmer only found out this week and immediately made plans to inform the HoC. If that is true, Starmer has done nothing wrong. If he is lying then I agree he is in the sh1t.

Maybe if it's absolutely relentless it could be described as an unhealthy obsession then?

Let's try that again. ....

Given that the leader of the opposition is an imbecile who would have lead us blindly into a war, and the leader of the next most popular party is a borderline fascist who would have begged to be lead blindly into a war, can we agree that in the grand scheme of things no one should really give a shït about this particular issue any more?

I don't know that this is a particularly good time to have Ed Milliband in charge on the world stage, or hastily arranged by elections in the greater Manchester area.

If you consider that Keir Starmer was absolutely scathing about Boris Johnson when he had to resign over a slice of cake then he shouldn't be surprised if people hold him to the same standard?
