Years ago, when I was a young teenager, I was accused of scratching Tommy Trinder's Rolls Royce when Fulham came to play my home town team. I remember looking at the car because of its number plate COM1C, but I honestly never did it.
Possibly because COM1C was owned by Jimmy Tarbuck, unless he bought it off Tommy Trinder...

Just checked and you are right. I must have conflated the two comedians and their cars because, just googling, I see that Trinder's car was TT1, the match pre-dated Tarbuck, and Trinder was chairman of Fulham at the time.

I still didn't scratch it!

Paul Daniels had MAG 1C on a Rolls Silver Spirit.

Someone nicked the car when he made an appearance at a club in County Durham when his career was very much on the wane.

The car was returned in circumstances that remain murky, suggesting Mr Daniels was having dealings with some dodgy people.
