No, I don’t think anyone should suggest we don’t teach children of the risks, but the risks are hugely overstated.

The main point of the thread was to show that stranger killings are relatively rare, and worrying about any specific members of society killing women is pretty silly.
You leave one metric out which is very hard to measure, but still in an important point, and that is the question are like you say 'stranger killing relatively rare' because like you also say 'the risks are hugely overstated' or because we learned to be more vigilant and thus it's not that there are no bad intentions, just less opportunities to engage in these acts for strangers.
meaning that your hugely overstated conclussion is a dangerous one for potential victims.
