Michael Fish's storm prediction

With the third storm in a week upon us, like me, I'm sure many of you will have wondered how Michael Fish managed to get it so wrong in his now infamously erroneous weather forecast. It was because the BBC didn't listen to the lady who phoned the BBC. All charmingly explained here in this short animation. You need the sound on:

Well... technically correct, but he did fail to predict the destructiveness of the weather.

I was out chasing tin pig arcs around, in Mr Fish's storm, and watching hilltop copses be felled like matchsticks..

After a few hours of it we realised it wasn't worth the risk of being decapitated by flying sheets of wiggly tin, and retreated indoors
