"It's just bants. Cant you take a joke?!?"
[n.b. I'm making some assumptions about the meaning of all that French text, so I can withdraw this post later if appropriate, OK?]

Here's a rough translation:-
TOGETHER WITHOUT POOR FOREIGNERS, RMISTS(welfare recipients), THE LEFT, THE EXTREME LEFT THE COMMUNISTS, THE CDI, HOMOSEXUALS, INTERMITTENTS, HIV POSITIVES, THE DISABLED, the MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, the ministry OF CULTURE, INDEPENDENT JOURNALISTS, BLACKS, ARABS, (NOAH, THURAM - Professional footballers) AND THE GUY WHO STOKED MY WIFE, EVERYTHING BECOMES POSSIBLE

The way I read it is more like he wants to bring everyone together, except the poor, the foreigners, the left ...

Sounds like a sarcastic put down to me, but I might be wrong.

"...and the bloke who stole my wife..."

NO NEED TO SHOUT!

SORRY!

Actually the case of the text was taken from the image. I google lensed it, ran it through translate and did a bit of rewriting/searching for the more obscure references. I *could* just have written it out myself (my French is pretty reasonable), but I went the lazy route.

That was always my "translation" (I never translated it, just limited French so more my understanding). It started appearing during Sarkozy's 2007 Presidential election campaign (or that's when I first started noticing it (he still won).

I'm now picturing Marlon Brando mumbling,

"Yasss, slay queen."

I've been following the Onion since around '98, it may have been a predecessor then, and they've always been known for this kind of satire. Unfortunately, as first the tea party and then maga became more vocal it got harder and harder to tell if something was an Onion story or a real one.

Part of the problem is that the US finds it hard to do comedy with subtlety. Even the satire has to be spelled out. I've tried watching the US version of Have I got News for you, and whilst it's OK, you can feel that it isn't working yet. Many of the guests haven't grasped that the point isn't just to answer the questions and get them right.
