I thought the following story was a wind-up when I first heard. So I googled it:

GB News to launch 'all-British' radio station - The Independent
4 hours ago ... GB News to launch 'all-British' radio station – playing only British music · The station will host shows including 'The Great British Drive Home' ...

They'll end up with the same problems as Canadian radio. There was a time when a large number of Bryan Adams' songs were ineligible.
They'll run out of songs written, played, recorded, produced, mixed etc, etc, all by Brits in Britain.

So no Handel, no Samuel Coleridge Taylor. Holst is a bit suspicious, with a name like that.

Definitely no Ireland either. Unless his ancestry was Northern.

They'll be ok with that Benjamin Britain chap.

Wait till they find out he was gay and a pacifist.

I'm sure the patriots could have no issue with this prolific composer.

Performances & recordings of that were rare enough at one stage that I remember recording it onto 'compact cassette' from Radio 3 in about 1978, as you couldn't get it on LP. (Ha, I have to do a short 'history of broadcasting and of recording media' to pupils if I tell them something like this.)
