Yes, what with the fortunate timing of Murrell's trial being after the elections.

And at a time when people are fed up of the Labour/Tory duopoly and are looking for alternatives to vote for. People are even voting for the Greens and Reform, so the SNP would find it impossible not to pick up votes.

To be fair, the Labour/Tory duopoly hasn't really been much of a thing in Holyrood for a long time. This time around, it looks like Reform picked up Tory votes, the LibDems appropriated Labour support, & younger pro-independence supporters voted Green rather than SNP, but not to the extent that it made much significant difference. Second-highest turnout since the independence referendum, apparently.

I wonder how different it would have been if the Murrell Trial had gone ahead in the run-up, as planned? Would it have made any difference?
