The point the OP was picking up on is that it is relatively rare for liquidators to pursue individual directors to recover debt owed by a limited company. That's the point of the "limited" part.
There is certainly the appearance of having used that legal entity as a vehicle to hoover up a big contract, and make no real effort to fulfil that contract before sneaking away with quite a lot of the money.
