If you go on to google earth you can see the tree is directly on the car park boundary line.

It will be interesting to see what paperwork Toby Carvery have.

No really in the car-park though, is it:

It may well be that they DID receive advice that there was danger liability that needed addressing, but in the light of the recent Sycamore Gap incident, they really should have seen what terrible publicity this would generate.

The police have now decided it’s a civil matter.
This was the tree in March 2023.
You can see why Toby would be worried about it. But chopping in down seems OTT.

I would have expected there to be evidence of death or life in the remains. Certainly locally, (North of England), oaks are not one of the earliest to show life in Spring.

Please can we have an end to these sensationalist clickbait headlines. This one was in the Mirror.

How long do you think it took Rice to “Break his Silence”? That’s right he was interviewed on the pitch after the game. So he withheld this important information for the duration of the match.

The click bait headline trend is so annoying. All the outlets do it now, even the Guardian mildly does it; 'Starmer is wrong on x,y,z. Here's why'. Advertising drives revenue now not hard copies so it's become inescapable.
