I mean, sure he's done some shitty things, but this is quite the right-on lynch-mob!

Perhaps they're worried it's going to become an epidemic. In fact only yesterday I was confronted by this bloke.

I sort of agree but Wallace is bringing it upon himself due to his inability to follow advice and keep his mouth shut.

For me it's not so much the shitty things he's done but how he's behaved once called-out for them. Insulting the victims, accusing his employers of failing to stop him, linking his behaviour to autism, etc.

I'd certainly condemn his behaviour but what has made it the issue is his lashing out and everybody and everything and refusing to take any personal responsibility for his own behaviour.
