"Ferguson and her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, flew to Miami to visit Epstein less than a week after he was released from prison in July 2009, according to the files."

(Eugenie - the younger sister - was 19 in 2009.)

I found myself reading that first bit in the voice of the guy with the very deep voice that does movie trailer voiceovers.
I just did the same thing, and he ended up sounding like Tony the Tiger by the end of the sentence.

I hate defending the royals, but...

Maybe they are learning that the old "mystery" doesn't work and they can no longer hide stuff away. Maybe they will be more open in future and maybe openness will translate to a smaller institution.

I don't know about openness, but my understanding is that William has plans to hugely prune the monarchy when his time comes.

But what does that mean? Fewer castles? Smaller castles? Sell of the massive estates to pay-off the National Debt? Smaller Sovereign Grant? Maybe they'll start paying the tax others are ablobed to pay? etc.

Just a couple fewer individuals listed as "Royals" is trivial. There arer only 11(?) working royals at the moment.
