Is it better or worse than far left vacuity?
Worse?

Either end of the political spectrum is not ideal. History suggests neither are very good.
It’s redistribution verse trickle down.

But at least the far left have an aim to make things better for society as a whole. The rich will suffer some loss but will still be richer than the majority and are more able to cope.

Far right only want to make things better for themselves and their friends at the expense of the poor and minorities.

But I wouldn’t have much hope for any international involvement if a far left party was elected. I just don’t think their high morals operate in the real world, which can be messy and complicated.

No they haven't. The FL wrap it up as making things better for all, but it's to keep everyone poor and grateful, whilst creaming off for the ruling elite.

I would not disagree with the claim that the intention of a far left government may be to make things better for society as a whole, whereas the intention of a far right government is to make things better for an elite, I am not as convinced that the actual outcome would follow this pattern, in practice.

Of course, we would have to define “better”, “far left” and “far right”. Also, I am unsure that a government of either extreme has actually existed long enough to test the theory. 😊

Closest we've got was to the right in Liz Lettuce (©️BT). There could be a reason it didn't last long enough for a prolonged test. 😉

There are more places in the world than the UK, and, there were Governments before Liz Truss (not that I am a fan of her).

I'm not well enough versed abroad (Canada excepted but they were centrist) to comment and Mad Lizzie is the most extreme example I can recall in this country.

The closest equivalent currently is Milei. The reason he is still standing is because Trump is bankrolling him. Trump himself is a close imitator.

Meloni rode the populist right wave to get into power in Italy, but seems to have tempered her stances somewhat, and so far hasn't been the disaster predicted by some/many*

Is it that in the face of a far right govt. (or impending) people assume that as they have no control over government they assume a more hedonistic (need to look after number 1) attitude?

It seems to me that they feed on crisis by out grouping and attributing the crisis to the outgroup. Could be disabled people,.if you are Tory, or immigrants (of a definition of your choosing) if you are Reform of Tory. Basically, anyone who isn't a gammon is fair game.
