Another one here - Green Party Councillors tried to discuss a plan to sort out Kent's fragile infrastructure. The plan had broad cross party support. They spend 7 hours in session...

Reform deferred that discussion to the next meeting and prioritised discussing whether to sing the National Anthem before Council meetings and whether to have the Lords Prayer.

Like with Trump, and Raise the Colours, it's all about imposing a narrow, white Christian interpretation of nationality on everyone and making 'others' feel unwelcome. I bet if you asked those Reform councillors how many went to church regularly, the figure would be close to zero: it's not about the religion per se, but how it can be used to exclude.

'Plausible deniability' ought at least to be plausible.

Meanwhile, Reform tries blatant Trump-like populism with 'No tax on overtime', mirroring the Trump 'No tax on tips'. Apart from anything else, who gets overtime these days?

Farage, meanwhile, is getting more desperate in his explanations... and the adverbs and adjectives are getting more colourful... "deeply concerned"... "intensely suspicious". Still, it's good of him to remind us all he took a £5mn bribe and didn't want it to be public.
