Jewish people need to claim back the meaning of ‘antisemitic’, or replace it with something else. I have a feeling that it is probably too late to reclaim.

The only real equivalent would be historical criticism of the South African government as being seem an attack on all South Africans.
It’s a complete nonsense.
It is absolutely possible to criticise one with the other. And antisemitism is being used as a shield.

To elaborate a bit...
The unions became part of a party-focussed back-patting machine.

Even after WW11, for 'Homes fit for Heros' it was the family squatting movement taking over barracks and such that forced the hands of government to build council homes.

The NHS was a success for party politics, but it was undermined as much by Labour's introducing marketisation measures as the Tories'.

Crucially, Labour failed to repeal the aspects of Thatcher's Right to Buy that repaced council housing with the property ladder as a common aspiration. This is what fed anti-immigration prejudice - the real problem was housing shortage, and Labour flunkied it bigtime.

The focus on the retrospective changes to block these donations is just daft. Say Labour change the rules to require donors be UK resident for 12 months ... so the donations are returned and in 6 months, maybe a bit longer they make the same donations again complying with the backdated rules. Labour look vindictive and Reform still have the money.

As an anarcho-syndicalist I oppose all political parties on somewhat precious principle, but in practice I welcome anyone who tells truth to power and believe that party politics' main flaw is the dishonest mongering of its adherents. If Burnham and the activists of the North can do better I'll support that as long as integrity happens. we need real coming together to get not 'Growth' will a big G but sustainability. Some fudging of PR (public relations) I can tolerate as long as it stays on the left side in belief and function and information, ie shared understanding. We also might have to protect ourselves from the IMF.

Realistically, this needs accountability, and accountability is empowerment and feeds intelligent participation in any decision-making at all levels. None of this contentment to pass my power to a career politician for 4 years and then complain. We have to give them the elbow grease not the funding.
