Reform, and the death of the Tory Party

I think Refuk's proposals go well beyond 'illegals' such as boat arrivals.

They're proposing to review Indefinite Leave with a view to deportation for many thousands. Not all that different from compulsory repatriation as proposed by certain people in the seventies.

I'm going on what was said in the article: that was the word used.

As we have a hostile immigration system which classes all asylum seekers as "illegals" that's hardly surprising.

So why don't we? Why do we refuse to provide a safe path to claim asylum before they need to cross the channel and get taken in by shysters?

A quick reminder that most of the people wanting to cross, want to cross because they speak English and not French or because they want to get to someone they know. That's human nature.

Most people do not want uncontrolled immigration -

Probably because a lot of the electorate don't want it and providing an easy legal path will only encourage more to come. And despite what you say about their motivations, it is still a choice: they are not in mortal danger in France.

So all asylum seekers should go to France. How would that work exactly?

Yes, let's elect the bloke who pockets £5mn from a foreign-resident crypto boss without declaring it, cos... well, over to you, Telegraph with your deeply weird obsession, and a photo that's nine months old.

Hang on, they’re missing the big picture. Surely that’s evidence of her arriving in the UK on a small boat and she should be deported?

Haha, Guardian reporting on Le Monde asking Farage's partner about the Clacton house. It's come to something when the French press are scrutinising Farage more than the UK press.

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...firm-house-constituency-clacton-laure-ferrari

"In an interview with French publication Le Monde, Ferrari was questioned over revelations in the Guardian that she had purchased a house in her name in Clacton after Farage had claimed to be the buyer.

Farage initially said the arrangement was for “security” reasons. Some months later, he told reporters that Ferrari came from “a very wealthy French family and can afford it” – although a subsequent BBC investigation raised further questions about the size of her family’s alleged wealth.

Quizzed by Le Monde on the issue, the publication said she “dodged” the question. When asked if she bought the property thanks to a family inheritance, she said: “Yes and no, that would be a very large inheritance … There’s more than one way to pay for a house.”

“I can’t say how much my grandmother gave, that’s my business,” Ferrari added. “The main thing is that I paid all the taxes, there was no tax evasion, and the house is in my name.”

Have a look at the stance that the major parties are taking re: immigration; even Labour is trying to at least look tough on the issue as they figure that if they don't do something about it then Reform will likely replace them in government come the next GE. Doing what you want will make that more likely, so careful what you wish for.

I didn't say all immigrants should go to France but that's where they nearly all come from and they are safe there.

And trying to play the 'I'm a leftie so I'm more charitable than you' card doesn't win you arguments.

It’s being reported that the guy who paid Farage £5m also paid Boris Johnson £1m as a personal payment.

Strange how billionaires never fund left wing politicians.

Not strictly true but it does tend to go to the party rather than individuals. Lord David Sainsbury is a regular Labour donor and there are a number of multi-millionaires such as Gary Lubner, Lord Alli, Martin Taylor, Dale Vince etc who donate substantial sums.
