Carole Cadwaladr has a long piece in The Nerve on Farage, Cottrell, and Brexit, and why the press is only now just catching up.

Does this help, or just muddy the waters?
I suppose it shows a real person.

Keep it simple, Vote Bin.

Not sure. My guess is that he's pitching for both the serious voter and the ones who like the idea of worldwide fame via Count Binface and who might have voted for Farage on a whim rather than any sort of sensible analysis of what they were voting for.

He's seen the IPSOS poll and thinks he can consolidate his polling with new seriousness.

While being a joke candidate likely to lose his deposit, Binface is fun. But if there is any chance he might win then he might not want to be trapped in the bin.

Which is he standing as? That's the one he has to sit in Parliament as I believe (although he may not need to wear the costume)

He would have to be Binface as that is is name on the ballot, but can’t wear the bin in HOC.

Apparently it’s very hard for him to put the bin on himself and often has to get help from the TV producers.

I wonder what the regulations are over election materials like this, given lots of them are quite strict (address/name of agent etc.), though I suspect social media stuff is given more latitude.

Very hard to judge all this, but we're talking about Clacton here, a place that voted in Farage. They have form for being utter farking idiots. It's all "StOP ThE BoAtS!" for them, that's all they care about and won't even care that the current government have made rather solid progress on this single issue.
I reckon Farage will get in again and I hope I'm wrong, it would be so British for everyone to get together and a right old laugh over a binman beating Farage.
