When a person claims a god or a religion is on their country's side that is no longer religion. That is nationalism.

Farage admits he discussed returning as Reform leader months earlier than previously stated
Nigel Farage has admitted he held talks about the possibility of returning as Reform UK’s leader months before the 2024 general election, potentially undermining his own account of the circumstances in which he received a £5m gift from a crypto billionaire.
Says a lot about someone when they can't even mount a consistent defence of their own actions ... to the point where they then confirm their previous justifications were just untrue.

For a brief moment yesterday I almost wished Reform would win the next election and Färange become next PM just to see the French response when a British warship sailed into French territorial waters to force a rescue of those not needing rescue who refuse rescue and then same warship then sails into a French port to offload people who are not legally in France and who the French really don't want and who don't want to be in France anyway.

(Note: that I say "almost wished" as it would be the end of Färage, just we'd probably all be bankrupt before that happened anyway).

I've given up worrying about Farage as PM. The more rope he is given the more he'll hang himself.
Was that an inappropriate idiom?
