The Electoral Commission proving Orr's point that they are still useless. You'd have thought they'd have been provoked into disproving his statements that they were a joke, instead of which they say "Nothing to do with us, it's the police's job."

Tice on R4 this morning having a rant, accusing eg C4 News of "breaking the law" whereas Reform "done nothing wrong".
Reform seem to be trying to sideline what I perceive as their major offence of the polls paid for by overseas money and not declared. Reform seem to be trying to focus on the "donation" and that no money was donated (though I'd have thought given there are UK laws then a "conspiracy" might apply). But I'm no lawyer so dependent on other reliable sources to form a view.

I thought he relinquished at least enough "ownership" but put in place procedures that make it all but impossible for him to be replaced eg takes 50% of the membership (not those attending an event, the entire membership) to write to the party requesting a vote of no confidence (or 50 Reform MPs or 50% or Reform MPs).

Lee Anderson was in Halifax recently, trying to get reform members to move with him to Restore. Amongst those was reforms first councillor, now Calderdale council leader.
Said council "leader" was amongst those who are supposed to have put their names forward to become party leader should Farage have lost the by-election. How these people are now viewed within the party, is uncertain.
The cracks are getting larger within the party at a local level. Woth a certain amount of infighting visible.

Yes, he's taking the line of
"How dare a grotty climate change activist try to entrap honest members of the Reform party trying to to things that are patently against the law. IT IS A DISGRACE. Do they not realise these people were castigated by Senators in the US for selectively editing video footage?"
He seems to miss that this documentary has been jointly produced by Channel 4 and thus there will be a LOT of fact checking, review of the recorded footage and full documentation to support any legal challenges, and that even if you have been set up trying to break the law, that doesn't make you the good guy in the scenario!

I'm no fan of the Tories, but it seems to me that there is a gaping hole in the political spectrum for a sensible centre right party. Shame about Badenoch.

I'm no lawyer but my understanding is "entrapment" is not a crime, at best under some pretty specific circumstances it could be a defence eg when used by the state when alternative means to get evidence is available. So Trice accusing them of entrapment is a bit irrelevant.

Patrick Mercer a former Tory MP resigned as a Member of Parliament in April 2014 after an undercover investigation caught him agreeing to ask parliamentary questions in exchange for money.
So there is good precedent for this sort of thing. And frankly every interviewer should know this sort of basic stuff.

To go all Blakers, it's what I've been saying for well over ten years (starting over on CS): when a certain poster was desperate to destroy the Labour Party, I pointed out that a weak Labour Party was bad news for the Tories, as they wouldn't have their ideas properly scrutinised, and so their thinking would be lazy, and that was compounded by the 80-seat majority. It's why Thatcher, at least to start with, appreciated her 'Willie', as she liked the intellectual challenge from people with well-considered opinions.
I've also repeated said that the Tories could win back a lot of voters, even some on NCAP, if they became a pragmatic party of encouraging free trade (admitting their mistake on Brexit - easy: just blame Johnson) and recognising the value of immigration, which is a proven benefit to the economy. Instead of which, they've been chasing the unicorn of sovereignty and the pulling up of the drawbridge. It's not the party that made the Channel Tunnel happen, or facilitated the Single Market.
Well, I only wish I could reference those CS posts now to say "I told you so." Badenoch is the epitome of someone who doesn't like/can't do intellectual/logical argument: she seems to think putting out a punchy post on X and reading a script at PMQs will do.
