I'm the same. Using them to in effect post the same when I've nothing (significant) to add and avoid pages of "I agree with ..." for others to trawl through.

Yes, quite. I f-booked at first because a local skateboarding campaign favoured it. Big mistake.
However, Long Live Southbank won because of running a physical stall every day with people on the site with paper forms to object and engage face to face. THERE IS NO OTHER BETTER WAY.

I'm a slightly different character all my SM stuff. I'm only sweary here, for starters. I'm more two-dimensional on French FB than the personal FB profile, which is nearly all people I'd happily have to stay here. Bluesky I'm less proactively political, probably as I prefer doing politics not with friends or strangers, but people who you have got to know something about their political angles, so you can prod or encourage knowing roughly what angles to come from, and some of the back story (such as if they live in Cornwall and are never wrong).

I use likes a bit like PB. I use to dislike likes, but actually they are a quick way of saying "I've read it", or "I kind of agree", or just "I agree and can't be bothered to think about it any more", or "I don't agree, and I think you're a wally, but I can't be bothered to carry on this pointless argument, but I'll pretend I'm agreeing anyway".
I hope that that's cleared that up.

FB is good for Marketplace but that's all.
I joined it just to sell some stuff and then joined a few ancient history type groups but algorithms and AI have basically ruined them. Started off thinking the AI recreations of how Roman emperors looked were cool, ended up fed up of repetitive lengthy AI slop from bots.
I don't use Reddit because they host pornography. There are a couple of nature photography accounts I look at on Bluesky but BS seems to get little engagement from users compared to X.
Mumsnet is great but kind of too big nowadays. Too much of a timesucker.
I'm on other hobby forums which are full of lovely kind people though so that sort of makes up for the social media sites which aren't.
