I does, and if you have stats then that's fine, but a blind assumption based on location is not.

I accept you do not just take my word for it, to save me searching out the "wrong" stats, what would you accept/ eg

- proportion of school leavers (16yo) who enter further education
- number of GCSE per pupil at grade C (now 7, in the new grading system, I believe)
- proportion of population with degree (or higher)

any thing else?

I'm not that fussed. Your original post came across as a lazy stereotype, much like Essex.
Maybe the stats bear out the original post but my original post began with If.

Since I was born in the area, (which I did mention) and, am a product of the area, having been educated here, I suppose I "stereotyped" myself then. Not to mention it was not me who raised the subject of educational levels:

"South Shields is a traditionally safe Labour seat, but demographically has an aging population and scores high on the deprivation. We know that Reform do well with the elderly and with the poorly educated - presumably as they are most likely to believe the tosh that comes out of Reform's propaganda."

I don’t see anything there which suggests the South Shields Constituency has a significantly different age profile.

But it plainly states that the population is aging.

Between the last two censuses, the average (median) age of South Tyneside increased by one year, from 42 to 43 years of age.

This area had a slightly higher average (median) age than the North East as a whole in 2021 (42 years) and a higher average (median) age than England (40 years).
The bar chart shows a significant jump in the over 50s.

No it was me looking at statistical evidence.

I did not say otherwise, my question was “is the age profile significantly different to other areas of the UK”

Of course it shows a “significant jump in over 50s” it is the effect of the post war baby boom, followed by that cohort having children. That effect was not limited to South Tyneside!

I must admit that I'm confused about it all now.

Starmer setting (himself) a dangerous precedent. He now seems of the view that somebody who isn't performing adequately should be sacked ... as per the Cabinet Secretary. So what do the people who appointed Starmer (ie the electorate) think about Starmer's performance (eg approval rating) and doesn't the same apply to him? So time he was sacked under the same principle.

As I say, I'm entirely unclear what this is all about. It doesn't have the feel of the Tom Scholar sacking from the Treasury under truss (obviously as he wouldn't sign off on her mad 'fiscal event'), and I've seen no reasoning yet for Wormald's forced departure (and there's nothing immediately obvious).

Best I can get from reasons are Starmer logic "Something has to change, this is something, let's do it".

Good points, but just to add Ratcliffe received a further £120 million to support jobs at this Grangemouth plant this year.

In addition to that he has been granted £75 million loan guarantee and £50 million direct grant. That's a total of £245 million in support this year.

Maybe the tax savings alone don't support a Monaco lifestyle?

Yep,a migrant tax-dodging parasite.

Just as Starmer might have hoped for a bit of improvement in his fortunes, the High Court have ruled that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful. Police made more than 2000 arrests on the basis of PA's proscription, arresting people of conscience against genocide.

This follows the recent release of 6 of the 24 Filton prisoners on the ground of lawful excuse.
