"At times, it seems that a country that has banned foxhunting has now taken to PM-hunting as the new national bloodsport. But how will we look to the rest of the world if we sacrifice PM to the gods, as if in a prayer for competence? How will it look to a country that was exhausted by this madness under the Tories and will simply never forgive a Labour Party that takes 14 months to get as low as the Tories did in 14 years?

So yes, the May elections will be awful for Labour (and the Tories). Yes, Starmer lacks an agenda and is criminally wasting the opportunity that arrived with his landslide majority. But he won, nonetheless. He’s the PM. Deposing PMs should be a pleasure reserved for the voters. For the sake of the country and party, Starmer’s ministers should focus on making this project work - in spite of him, if needs be. Unless they are very sure that the alternative will be palpably better (as Sunak was after Truss) regicide is suicide. That was the lesson of the Tories. Labour still has time to learn it."

The problem here is the "making this project work". Is there a project at all?

That too/especially. I still can't square his supposedly LW/Labour 'values' with the still-tolerated/encouraged Reform stuff of Mahmood.

He's not going to get another term if he can't articulate a coherent set of values that guide his policy choices.

...

You don't leave an incompetant failing medical Dr harming patients just because you disbarred two other incompetents last week. If they can't do the job you need to find somebody that can

I never got a vote as to who because PM. And next General Election I won't be getting any vote as to who will be PM. All I get is a vote on who my local representative to Parliament will be.

So I cannot "vote out the PM" next election.

I see Starmer now saying he has the support of the Labour Party which to me highlights how he's missed the point. His role is responsibility to the entire country not just the Labour Party. Disappointing he regards Labour support as his prime issue.

If he believes the Labour Government is the best way for the country to be run, and he is the best person to lead it then it is logical that that he is concerned that he may be ousted, whether or not we agree with his performance as leader.

Without the support of the party he cannot do what he thinks is necessary for the country.

I wonder why there is complete media silence- what is there to hide.

Hopefully some reporter can get access through a back passage

I've seen Galloway described as many things but a "prominent host" isn't one of them.

Maybe they meant "prolific"? Which he certainly is, having worked with Iranian TV channels in the past, amongst other sketchy channels including Russia Today.

He's the ultimate grifter.
