A few years ago the Proms were Stockhausen themed. We went to several. There was also a prepared piano piece by Cage.
Back in the 60s the Proms premiered a piece by Stockhausen (Stimmung, I think) with the great man himself signalling to the orchestras (plural) and operating a shortwave radio. It was at one of the smaller venues - can't remember which.

I have to be in the right mood. I was well into Schönberg and Webern when I was at school and university,
I wasn't into it but at school our director of music did manage to train our 6th form chamber choir so well that we could pretty much sight read Schönberg

Can't think of any atonal choral music of his offhand. I suspect the Webern cantatas are a whole different ballgame. They are bizarre, and my least favourite Webern.

Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
Having only just stumbled across this thread, can I just say that this is the best thing I've seen on t'internet since I can't remember when. Stunning. And I join the numerous others in wishing the feller all the best.

He's done a fair amount since then although he's still quite ill. All his music and especially his videos are worth checking out. He's a true artist. Since he's become moderately internet famous and successful he's putting the money into funding clinics for people in similar situations.

He's sincerely a truly great and uplifting human being.

Just to clarify, that's the Restore position not mine.
