The Game of Throne books are 99p on Kindle this week too, if that's your kind of thing.
Good books IMHO. The only issue is that it's unlikely it will ever be a complete story.

The first book took 5 years, the second, 3 years, the third only 1 year, the 4th 5years, the 5th 6 years and the next one 12 years so far. George RR Martin is 75 and morbidly obese. I'm not placing bets on him being alive to finish the last book, even if he eventually publishes the next one which is "three quarters done".

Pretty sure that's why they rushed out the conclusion to the TV series with "plot pointers" or whatever from him, just to get it done.

At least it's had his input. Wouldn't want a Silmarillion or Battle Royale 2 scenario.

Absolutely. There is no way that they could have waited for him. Sadly it meant that the screen play was rushed and poor quality hence the last season just falls of a cliff.
