More likely is that they will cause enough chaos and damage to be rejected (again) in four years.
Whatever happens in 4 years significant damage will have been done. On the assumption the Trumpton era is rejected, that it could happen has demonstrated to the rest of the world that it can and does happen and thus the US is an "unreliable" partner. although early days I suspect the rest of the world is looking for reliable partners. What does the US do and make that we cannot source elsewhere? Countries will be looking for trade and alliances with countries who prove more reliable and not subject to 4-year madness impacting them so badly.

Of course moving away from the US will be painful and expensive for the rest of the world but it's an "adjustment" clearly necessary so maybe best if we just accept it and get on with it, making our own plans for and with partners who are more reliable.

Tesla: Sales falling badly in Europe and UK eg:
  • Sweden drop 70%
  • Norway drop 51%
  • France drop 63%
  • Germany drop 41%
  • Netherlands drop 42%
In UK at a time the EV sales increased by 41% yet Tesla decreased by 7% (from https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/n...esla-sales-fall-by-up-to-66-in-europe-and-uk/ and https://www.buyacar.co.uk/the-latest-tesla-statistics/)

But the general feeling is that Elon Musk's visibility as CEO of the brand is now doing more harm than good, and it seems likely that if it can do so, Tesla will find a way to replace him as CEO and make it obvious that as an individual, he really has very little to do with the cars and technology buyers get.

I wonder if Musk could become the new Ratner? It certainly seems like he might be on the brink of that.

I'm not convinced that Tesla getting rid of him as CEO would help much (he doesn't seem to actually do much as CEO). Even if he resigned from the Board people would still see much of his wealth from Tesla and if they purchased a Tesla vehicle their contribution to Tesla profits as going to Musk.

But selling his stock would be bad as well as to get rid of enough to dissociate himself from the brand would mean a lot of shares on the market which would impact share price.
