I was pretty active on there until it all went pear shaped following Musk's acquisition, even a decent ratio of followed to followers if that makes sense. I mostly posted bicycle and technology stuff. What really pissed me off is when they blocked Tweetdeck, I was off like a shot, then after that the really bad stuff started happening.

Yeah, I quite liked it till it went completely Musky, and I realised that it really was X and Twitter was dead.

You mean when it was heavily censored by the woke owners.

Musk sacked all them and let the platform self align

Former Twitter bowed to pressure from the US goverment(then democrats) to supress the story about Biden's son's Laptop and maybe other things we don't know about. However the mechanism/hotline/whateveryouwannacallit the democrats used was open both to democrats and republicans it was just the only or primarily the democrats that used it. (it was designed to combat "fake news" but with Biden's son it was obviously used to delay the news to after the elections.)

Which shows that private companies are not the best option to develop mechanisms that combat fake news, i would say it's something you would need on a transparent basis with congressial oversight(or the equivalent systems called/working slightly different in other countries)

Musk sacked all them and let the platform self align

That is indeed Musk's said intention, however his own banning behavior and/or the line twitter now follows is much more pro-republican / right then "self align" a platform like mastodont or other platforms with no clear owner and or management direction are more likely to allow for "self align".

The left loved twitter from the early days, posted endlessly on the platform. They then announced shortly afterwards they were leaving, even left reporting newspapers have left.

What's funny is the huge database of lefties comments coming back to haunt their flipped posts of today

Musk was by his own admission a democrat, but realised he had made a grave mistake having seem the stance democrats took on certain subjects close to his beliefs

Here is a classic example of Democrat completely flipping from a sensible position to the crazy ideas of today
