Odd when Trump is waging war on US citizens/the constitution/the press and has effectively contracted US influence globally.
Surely the Chinese see the US as a diminishing threat?

But Trump has also made clear his enmity towards China, so from the Chinese point of view, anything that encourages an active role of the US in international affairs is a bad thing.

Well before Trump, US foreign policy was always questionable. So, I guess they have a long lasting antipathy towards the West

Meanwhile, some Americans moved to Russia. A lot of them went because they were defending the apparent Ukrainian damage to churches and were prompted to do so with other bits of propaganda.

At a slight tangent... The NYT seems to be intent on giving 2 sides to the war story, Incidentally, they never covered damage to the Ukrainian churches. They (the NYT) seems to be intent on protesting their Christian ethic. The NYT posted an article describing the terror of Russian locals occupied by Ukrainians yet the English Youtuber was there filming and there were kids playing in the streets and riding bicycles. The locals they interviewed expressed concerns about no mobile coverage due to drone interference efforts and the access to food and water, never once mentioning any sort of oppression.
The NYT again, failed to mention that in Russian occupied towns, civilians had been shot for fun and drones dropped on people for no reason other than vicarious killing. One of the many reasons Putin is wanted as a war criminal.

So, back tot he plot: an American family moved to Russia and the man of the family enlisted with the Russian army to fight the good fight. He was given scant training and was sent into the frontline 'meat grinder'. His wife has posted Youtube videos as she hasn't heard from him and is concerned about his welfare given the lack of training he received.
A black American woman moves to Russia because she felt it was safer to be in Russia as there was less racism (believe it or not, some consider this to be true). She was there long enough to learn Russian and posted a video of herself after being assaulted for being black (in Russian).

The man and his possessions will have been liquefied...

I hope the woman considers coming to her senses and gets her and her family out of there...

Yeah, it's horrible. Russia is stepping up it's ariel bombardment because they are not succeeding on the ground.

Reports of an Earthquake of 8.8 magnitude off the shore in Eastern Russia has possibly compromised nuclear submarines in that area which would give Putin more financial and strategic headaches. It's difficult to strip away the propaganda to get the actual effect and how much of the story is true

WASHINGTON, DC – In a rare display of bipartisan unity, US Senators Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, and John Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat, have proposed an amendment to the upcoming 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would prohibit the sale or export of petroleum from America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to several key geopolitical rivals.

Water shortages in Russian-occupied Donetsk have reached a critical point, with residents receiving tap water only once every three days, queuing for hours at mobile tanks, and relying on unsanitary sources such as basement wells and mine water.

Locals and pro-Russian bloggers are calling the situation a humanitarian disaster and demanding action from Moscow.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has released video footage showing a Ukrainian anti-aircraft first-person-view (FPV) drone shooting down a rare Russian reconnaissance and strike drone of the Orion type – a high-value unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) known for carrying a range of aerial bombs.

Crimea has been intermittently cut off by bombing of the rail network.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he has approved “large-scale agreements” for additional U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine.

In a video posted to social media on Wednesday, Zelenskyy said he had greenlit “the main principles of a deal” which he has previously discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump.“These are large-scale agreements. I have discussed them with Trump, and I am very much counting on us being able to implement them all,” Zelenskyy said.
