A bit more Russian infrastructure goes boom. This time a bridge in Russia not too far from the Belarus/Russia/Ukraine border and courtesy of the Russian army.
It would appear the Russians decided to place mines under the bridge to prevent progress by Ukraine troops, should the route be used to retreat Russian personnel. These were discovered by the Ukraine military.
Some excellent intelligence gathering and drone flying by Ukraine.

It could be a game changer if they were provided with and allowed to use something a little longer-range and not relying on the Ruskies to have already placed explosive material on the target. Though every little helps, for sure.

Putin and Trump will meet in Alaska to discuss an end to the war. Surely this is pointless without Zelenskyy. A take it or leave it pre packaged deal between Trump and Putin will almost certainly be totally unacceptable to Ukraine and Europe.

I don’t understand why everyone remains so scared of Putin. He can’t even invade Ukraine, their military is completely depleted. They currently would have no prospect of successfully invading a NATO country.

Russia’s economy is 11th biggest. UK, France Germany are all bigger. They really are given too much respect in my opinion.

I don’t think everyone is scared of Putin. Alaska will be a carve up between friends. Ukraine is just resources to them.

That will be the nuclear bombs with a paranoid psychopath in charge. Also, although the economy is small, their willingness to spend money and people on war vastly outweighs most other countries. The fear, legitimately, is the period between a ceasefire and when they come back and do it properly.

That's why I have said it before - Ukraine/we do not want a 'peace treaty' without Europe or Zelensky's involvement. This war is wrecking Russia. It's the only reason Putin is considering a ceasefire - if he's actually considering a ceasefire. (I say 'ceasefire' as I cannot see 'peace treaty').
Is Putin thinking that a ceasefire with land concessions from Ukraine is a semi-victory (I doubt that) or is he thinking that he has failed to invade Ukraine and say a ceasefire is just posturing or is he meeting Trump to play him so that Trump steps down support/diminishes sanctions?

Putin manipulates, Trump is stupid.
You cannot trust either f*cker one inch (or 2.54cm's in modern parlance).
