Also, Iran flew modern aircraft, including the BOEING 747SP (look it up).
They became famous at Heathrow as the 'SP' became scarcer and scarcer.
Actually, Nasa used one up until recently as part of their 'Sofia' project, but also, Trump
himself had one... Oh the dilemma! 😆

Through sanctions, Russia is struggling to get spare parts. That's why things are breaking down. I think that the idea that a vintage plane is going to be better taken care of because it's vintage - in Russia, is wrong.
There have been reports of much more up to date military aircraft falling out of the sky, I posted links. There's a whole wiki page dedicated to aviation accidents during this conflict.
Heating systems, rail, infrastructure, communications expenditure etc has been severely subordinated because everything has been diverted towards the war effort. (again, I posted a link to a story from St Petersburg where there was a sh*t shower in the middle of the city where a sewerage pipe had burst. The incidents of basic infrastructure failure in Russia is just a way of life it;s so common).
Buildings/apartment blocks are heated via underground boilers and the systems which often went wrong are now going wrong with much more frequency.
I watched a video just yesterday where people were having to literally dig tunnels to get out of the houses because local authorities haven't got the man power or machinery to clear snow.
So you wouldn't get me on any sort of Russian plane right now.

I would have expected that a ship like that would be worth a bit more than $29 million.
