To be fair, if you take the letters U, K & E out of Ukraine, and re-arrange the letters that are left, you get 'Iran'. That's the kind of genius Trump is.

It's that 4d chess he plays.

Worth a listen to that King's speech to congress. Charlie boy did a grand but subtle job. To subtle for the Orange man. You don't have to listen to all of it, just what Lawrence says about it:
Watch Vance stand up and clap to Charles' notion about protecting Ukraine... (?!) After literally saying he didn't care. One man, yes one man is holding up the $400m that was allocated to Ukraine by congress.

WSJ-verified footage: it seems that Ukraine has developed a type of shot cartridge that's good at shooting down Shaheeds from little aeroplanes. Cheap and very cheerful - it doesn't look like a high degree of accuracy is required... just point and shoot.

But we already know this given the long range strikes carried out recently. This is just the PR bit - the bit that's warning/reminding Putin. It's also advertising their ware seen as they have secured all manner of contracts in the middle east - and that's the interesting bit. The Arab states are switching priorities as they view Trump as an unreliable destabiliser.

Yup, it's the fact that he's got the confidence to telegraph it which is intriguing... I think a lot of the time they've been happy to let things happen 'under the radar' until the outcomes have become obvious, but I don't think that Zelenskyy would be doing this if they didn't have the resources to actually do something significant.

This lady is the clever one. Without he,r they reckon the Russian economy would be in an even worse situation but, because the economy is so bad, she is going to give banks the powers to sequestrate savings accounts with more than 2.8m Rubles in them - converting the cash into non-redeemable (until maturity) government bonds.
There has a already been a run on withdrawals, partly because of the curtailment of most digital transactions but more the scepticism of the public that there money is safe.

I'm guessing that another source of confidence for Zelenskyy is that he can now see that Trump can't give Putin much more support without it being utterly obvious/direct: there's no lifeline to Ukraine for Trump to withdraw, as he's done that already (and Ukraine didn't cave), and the bonus of rising oil prices and lifting of some sanctions against Russia doesn't seem to have made much difference (at least in the short term), as the military machine is now so degraded.

Zelensky doesn't do feather and fluff Russian propaganda There's an inevitability of Russian collapse, especially given Putin's lack of acknowledgement of failure: Like Trump, is Putin fed information that massages his ego but is far from the truth or does he know but he's too arrogant to consider cessation of war?
That is the tough question because so many people in his inner circle have cashed in on the war. One could argue that the corruption endemic in Putin's rule is the principle architect of the failure of the SMO. There are levels of 'acceptable' corruption but there is a another level where things start to fall apart or the quality and innovation - particularly military hardware development, is lacking to a the degree that the stuff works at 75% efficiency but outcomes fall short.
The difference surplus cash brought with oil and gas revenue kept everything, including corruption and production afloat. Now that surplus is gone - and the current levels of revenue don't even begin to address the increasing black hole.

That’s only £28,000.
I know Russia is a poor country but middle class workers who have maybe saved all their lives will be paying for the war now.

Both the Germans and the Japanese did something along this in WW2 - more, encouraging the pub;ic to buy government bonds for the cause.
Both went t**s up. However, the difference is there no choice here.
