Zackly. Even if one has issues with their governance and endemic corruption, the cost to them has been massive, not least in psychological terms. Meanwhile we complain about the cost of sunflower oil.

We've been at war with them for 50+ years. Not sure if you're trying to be some kind of edgelord, but there is no way that a nation which feels comfortable assassinating people on our own soil and attacking our critical infrastructure is not our enemy.
I do of course expect you to disagree, so 🤷‍♂️

I think that the idea of "being at war" vs "being at peace" is too simplistic for what has become a question of degree.

Same with "friends" vs "enemies".

It's more nuanced and can also vary depending on what aspects of any situation you look at.
