No explanation given, but a mod has deleted my signature over there, again.

After they had deleted my “Free Palestine 🇵🇸” sig, I changed it to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

There appeared no problem with that, presumably because the troublesome text was absent, so I recently changed it to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇵🇸 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇵🇸 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. It seems, however, that someone over there objects even to the appearance of the Palestinian flag.

Clowns.

I wonder what would happen if you replaced the Scottish flags with Israeli flags. Probably the mod in question would go all "does not compute"

My sig has now been deleted again and the signature function has been removed from my account.

I feel a challenge in the making…

EDIT TO ADD: I’ve been banned for a month from the other site. “You have been banned for the following reason: Despite being asked not to, adding Palestinian flag to signature.. Your ban will be lifted on 26 Jan 2025 at 00:00.” I don’t recall being told the flag was banned. I’m fairly sure they only referenced the text of my sig in their initial objection, which I didn’t seek to reintroduce.

Oh well.

I've been banned from threads in the past with no explanation given, even when asked. Most recently I had content removed for "flouting the swear filter" or something bollocks, when others were doing exactly the same thing on the thread.

The moderation on the site is weird, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it to be honest. I think it was more fun before it was as neutral as it is now, but hey ho, it is what it is I suppose.

I'm pretty sure that pair left of their own volition, not that it matters.

The broader point as I see it is there are plenty of thinly disguised political comments on there (and others which are blatant) which pass without comment or moderation.

I've been dropping in on the increasingly tedious* men's dress thread to see if anyone gets my brilliant Raj Persaud joke** and I see that's getting political. I wonder what'll happen to it.

*It became unbearably tedious about three years ago, I don't know why I keep going back to it. I thought it was quite good when it first started but it rapidly became a one man show.

Just had a look. I got it. As soon as you mentioned him I wondered why anybody would be platforming a repeated plagiarist. I did read one of his books once. Can't say if it was plagiarised word for word but it was just a simmary of other people's work on the topic with a few lines stringing their advice together. He was quite a big deal at one point.

I confess I had to look up (as in research) your Gurkha pants. Stylish yet weird and freaky. Interesting.
