Is glasgowcyclist one of these "flag shaggers" I sometimes hear about here? 🤷‍♂️
I seem them as being more of a flag waver... Andy's more on the shagging level...

Do you think they'll allow me this avatar, or is it too subtle?

I don’t object to his avatar and I wouldn’t seek to draw it to the attention of the mods for being political, but I certainly wouldn’t use it.

They’re simply proving the point I made in my response to them; they have a clear political bias when it comes to Palestine.

I noticed this morning that his is now gone too. Whether or not that's a decision he took himself I don't know, but I doubt it.

On the subject of ars e holes, I've just had a message complaining about offensive jokes magically disappear because I may have offended the mods. Oh well.

Ha. I had one suggesting a dodgy firestick get deleted from the streaming thread, but there have been plenty since and other workarounds being suggested.

I followed the dodgy firestick post with a post after my BR buddy posted it. Newbie Pinno gets wrap on knuckles.
...and had a joke deleted. No racism, no misogyny, no prejudice. Unless you don't like fishing either.
I have contacted them to point out what posts merited my posts now being reviewed before being posted. We shall see. The impending On line safety laws might be a factor currently. I can't speak for the original poster regarding the fund raising etc. Makes no sense.

Questioning the mods is a big no no in CC.

I'm not at all arsed about my dodgy firestick post being deleted, it was a while before the BRefugees came aboard.

I've had numerous posts deleted over the years and even been blocked from a couple of threads for what I thought was pretty innocuous stuff but apparently not. No response from the Mods when asked.

Your last sentence pretty much covers it all, hence this frustrated thread: there's not much consistency when it comes to the moderation, just got to live with it.

Yeah, one of those ones, they own the house and they make the rules. BR has been a bit like the kids taking over the house but actually ending up with a fairly stable unmoderated but self-policing community covering the whole gamut from bike racing through politics to daily trivia. So it's decidedly weird having moderation actions taken without warning. When I've moderated groups, I've tended to write a polite note *before* I've taken action on infringements of house rules explaining why, asking the person themself to remove the post, or if it's a serious one, a note at the same time explaining its summary deletion. Usually replies are of the "Oops, sorry" variety.

I got a reply. One of my jokes infringed the family friendly rule and I did 2 low level Lego promotions. I design Lego ball contraptions and kits sell globally but I only get 10% and really don't earn much. It barely covers the cost of my hobby. The trouble is, all my Lego ball contraptions have links to the sellers. So I cannot post any of the modules without modification which compromises my very reasonable contractual obligations. Oh well, never mind.
Sungod posted a rage against the machine vid thereby making the Mundane news' thread a little less err, mundane. It might just go over their heads. We shall see...

At least they explained themselves, and when I've been a mod, you have to either enforce the rules you have or change the rules if they are silly. The advertising one is sometimes tricky, but having had all sorts of sneaky things done to try to get under the radar of the groups I've done, I can understand why they err on the zealous side. It's especially hard when sellers piggyback on a charity connection but are obviously doing it for commercial ends. So it's easier just to say 'none' and mean it.

Seems a bit petty. You were hardly going all in with the hard sell. Incidentally - check out the Lego Radio - it has a new larger swivel (?corkscrew?) gear which you might find interesting/ useful.
