So Starmer now thinks that International Law should not apply to our allies when he agree's with the aims. He seems to be saying International Law only relevant when we disagree with the actions. Weird stance for a supposedly highly qualified lawyer.

What laws don't apply to who? Cherry picking which laws apply when and who ... not the way I thought law worked. Can we all chose which laws do ands don't apply to us?

Ian

You are quite correct of course but did anybody expect anything different?

my hope is they don’t take the bait but continue to focus their military attention on Israel.

And it appears that’s what they’re doing. A few hours ago, Iran destroyed Israel’s third biggest power station.

Iran has been conducting for many many years and funded proxy war against Israel and other nations. Israel has a right to fight back. USA as an ally helped Israel destroy Irans nuclear weapons project

There's the legitimacy

Also, it's lucky that the USA is being run by a sane President up to date with the latest military intelligence and not say, a senile old doddere watching Fox News..

There is also some suggestion that Trump is to blame for the escalation in Iran's Nuclear Weapons programme and has engineered the escalation of this war for ratings and votes:

Even the UK is considering buying a load more nuclear weapons, presumably as we also see all these wars (steming from Trumptionland) as a threat. If the UK recognises the need, why do we expect Iran to not see the threat? Not that I'm in favour of either Iran or UK or US or ... having nuclear weapons, just at some point it becomes hypocritical as in "do as I say not as I do" and "we've got them but you can't have them".

Apparently Iran had (before the US attack) informed IAEA that they were moving the enriched uranium but didn't give details as to where they were moving to. Same source was saying how that move (number of vehicles from satellite imagery) would have included centrifuges, etc. almost certainly to hidden facilities we don't know about. Hence negotiations are the only solution, bombing will just delay a bit.

According to the ex-Director of NATO's Arms Control & Disarmament Centre on C4 news.

They are planning to replace the current warheads because they don't last forever and for the new Nuclear Submarine class expected in the 2030's and beyond. Trident is actually the delivery system (missile) for the warhead. The code name for the latter is Astraea A21.

There has been speculation or rumour of Britain restoring its ability to launch Nuclear weapons from Jet aircraft, which is probably where your speculation is drawn from, but there is nothing more on this at all and i very much doubt that in spite of the recent increase in MOD spending that it will ever likely come to be...

As it turns out, armageddon doesn't come cheap...

Let's see if I have this right?

Israel attacks Iran because Iran might be developing weapons that Israel has.
Iran retaliates.
Trumps says "this isn't good enough" and blows up a few sites where the uranium has been removed.
Iran launches an attack on a US base and lands zero punches.
Trump says "A ceasefire has begun.".

I've been in fish markets that smell less fishy.
