For that to happen, Jenrick would need to become the leader of Reform. I reckon that's pretty unlikely.

I meant while he was in the Conservative Party. It really highlights the paucity of talent. Can you imagine him even making it off the back benches in Thatcher or Major’s governments (or even Cameron’s)?

For anyone who wasn't watching previous seasons of Conservative Party, Nick Timothy was the mastermind behind Theresa May's 2017 election campaign.

"I have a cunning plan, we currently have a slender majority. Let's call another election so we lose it and have to rely on the Democratic Loonionist Party whilst sorting out Brexit".

Probably not. Although he'd probably be able to get a spot on the current Labour front benches if he was a fair bit more to the left.

Loads will sadly.
It’s just voting for something different. They don’t look at the bigger picture.

Yes, to me, it is sad, and amazing, the number of people who have zero idea what is going on "in Government". Even within my own family, this is true, Daughter No4, although a lovely person, has a low paid job (Care work). She, and her friends have no idea of names of Politicians, which Party, what they stand for etc, beyond what they read on TikTok and/or Facebook. The one who really shocks me is Daughter No2, a Maths Teacher, intelligent, but, absolutely totally ignorant of current affairs.

I think that's a sign of the lack of trust in politicians these days and the view that they aren't really working in our interests. So why get too invested in any political party's policies or individual politicians? Just wait for the general election and see which party looks the least dodgy and self-serving. That, plus the rise of identity politics and the general drift towards pursuing individualism much more these days, means people are less invested in how politics might affect others, even if we personally aren't interested in the issues.
