Yep. The trouble with anarchists is we don't tend to engage with what politicians could do. Sod that.

Badenoch playing very dangerous games, aided and abetted by the usual suspects.

Badenoch telling the nation that the Single Market (which her party took us out of) is a great thing, with that look on her face (mouth to one side, raised eyebrows) which says "I've got such a killer argument here that you'll never understand!"

That curve has a peak. Hers is more like a plot of radioactive decay.

Sorry, I didn't read the article. There might be something coherent in her plan for all I know. And what about those big TVs they all buy? Why no plan to crackdown on those? (Maybe that's in the article, who knows).

Has someone pointed out to her that what she proposes will reduce the amount of public funds available for the private sector to siphon off? Has the spoons owner been consulted?

From the article "The Tories said the reduced subsistence allowance would be loaded onto pre-paid card that would not allow cash withdrawals, and would "prevent spending" on alcohol, cigarettes, or gambling.". If those are unacceptable, why allow vapes? or Netflix?, etc., etc.

Or condoms. People on benefits shouldn't have any fun at all.

I like this bit:
The Tories estimate the proposed changes would move about 350,000 claimants onto the lower rate of Universal Credit, saving around £538m a year.

Maybe i'm getting a bit lefty in my old age but I can't help think that energies would be better spent on sorting out the £800m lost to Tax avoidance, and the £59.2 billion in the tax gap. About 40 billion of that is criminal behaviour and failure to take reasonable care.

A 2% wealth tax on households with more than £100 million in wealth would raise £10 billion and affect less than 1000 households, all of whom can afford it.

But no, lets go after 350,000 people who can't afford it just because they might like to smoke a fag or have a few beers as an escape from their daily grind.

Linked back into their policy to re-instate the 2-child benefit cap ...
