What is it about far left *and* far right that makes them admire Putin and want to rehabilitate him despite his threat to Europe? Genuinely, what's the benefit they envisage? (Here, it's the ultra-socialist Mélenchon.) Is it ideological, or is there a lot of money swilling around to buy their support (or both, or something else)? I can't see that there's an electoral advantage.

Two arrests made over the illegal rubbish dump in Oxfordshire. It's going to cost £9.6mn to clean up, which they are going to try to recover via the Proceeds of Crime Act, but seems unlikely.
