I don't think this "Brian Moore" does hate to be pedantic. Call it a hunch ...

To be fair to me, I'm rarely pedantic on general social media stuff (unless someone else is being pedantic and makes a mistake themself), but if it's an academic or media body, then I probably will mention mistakes, as it's their job to get it right. The social media team at the school where I used to work are getting used to me pointing things out from time to time...

Also, I get annoyed with bodies publishing on SM but not bothering to read replies, so I'm kinda making a point: read replies, or have your mistakes pointed out for everyone to see. Occasionally they do amend.

Perhaps I ought to invite @matticus to W**dn**ds

This ought to get an award for the most shameless hypocrisy, as nowhere does the WP mention that Telnaes won the Pulitzer for a cartoon that was spiked by the WP and over which she resigned.

" from time to time." hmmm ...

I like to keep them on their toes. Most recent one was a reign/rein confusion, and they were grateful to have it pointed out. I was amused when one of the two people I emailed returned from her two-week holiday, and having read her emails noted that the post was actually correct... well, yes, it was by then!

I did once go into the control room just before a graduation for Exeter University to point out a grammar error on one of their Powerpoint slides - thankfully they were able to edit there and then.
