Tidal is also far too expensive.
The marine environment is too harsh and equipment constantly breaks.
If it was as easy as people think it would have been done by now.
Same as geothermal which is also a limitless source but almost impossible to make work unless you have perfect geological conditions like Iceland.

I assume you are talking about tidal stream rather than tidal lagoons. If so, it's more expensive than wind, yes, but it could be a useful part of the mix, because its highly predictable.

Boats seem to work quite economically in the same conditions. The maintenance isn't really any different.
