Re: Language & Meaning
News this evening includes that Channel 4 have ended their "Married at First Sight" series, Weird that they describe it as a "Reality Show". What aspects of the show represent "reality". Maybe "contrived fiction" or even "game show" but "reality"?

(One aspect and not wanting to ignore the serious accusations behind the decision to end the program)

None of these shows appeal to me as they so obviously contain manufactured drama, if not actually scripted scenes. That show was a legal case waiting to happen.

In other news, I've finally seen the John Lewis Christmas ad that everyone is moaning about. Yep. It's dreadful. Ungrateful kids, apathetic parents, and a message that says your grandkids won't like you unless you spunk a load of cash on them. Beautifully shot though.

The Profokiev/Shadows one remains their best (pretty sure it was the first too).
