Same here to say the same. Do these morons really not think through their comments or assume everyone else is as stupid as them? Monaco is probably the country most over-crowded with immigrants in the whole world but hey, they're rich.

No, they just think immigrant = brown person.

in their eyes, white people aren't immigrants, they are wealth bringers (or takers away).

Yep, to them immigrant = non-white skin, poor person from an under-developed country. They are expats which = white, rich and superior who are doing the country they've chosen to live a favour. Also, immigrants should learn the language and culture of the country they go to whereas an ex-pat being superior to a local) expects everyone to speak their language and respect their traditions.

Ukrainian skeleton pilot Vladyslav Heraskevych says being banned from competing at the Winter Olympics is the "price of our dignity".

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has banned Heraskevych for continuing to wear a helmet featuring images of athletes killed during Russia's invasion of his home country, which the IOC says breaks its rules.

Heraskevych, who wore the helmet in all of his training runs before the competition began on Thursday, was told by the IOC on Tuesday it "does not comply" with the Olympic charter and that he was not allowed to wear it.

The IOC would probably let Russia compete again if they thought they could get away with it.

I think this is a case of the rules are the rules.
No matter the validity of the case.

To my mind his helmet was showing tribute to friends who have died. I can't see the "politics" in honouring dead friends.

Scientists think they've worked out why a small number (1/200k) people who had the AstraZeneca vaccine developed blood clots that killed some (c.200) people. They can use the knowledge from that to make a new Ebola vaccine (and others) based on similar technology safer. Incredible stuff.

https://www.science.org/content/article/rare-dangerous-side-effects-some-covid-19-vaccines-explained

“Adenoviral vectors have a major role to play in producing new vaccines against outbreak pathogens, and also for diseases with low potential for vaccine profits,” says University of Oxford vaccinologist Sarah Gilbert, who helped develop AstraZeneca’s vaccine. The new study could help make these new shots safer, she says. It is unlikely that pVII can simply be removed from the virus, but scientists might be able to design versions that don’t resemble PF4 as closely, Gilbert says. “There’s still a lot of work to do to verify the approach, but the way forward appears clearer.”

IOC seem to have some 'strange' values at the moment... two news items today:

The Ukrainian getting banned for having a helmet commemorating dead Ukrainians, and...

I guess that Fox News is exempt. 🤔

Apple is facing mounting political pressure over claims that it has "systematically suppressed" news published by conservative outlets.
In a letter to the company published on Thursday, the head of the Federal Trade Commission called on Apple to review its policies, warning that companies that suppress or promote views based on ideology could be in violation of consumer protection rules.
The missive follows scrutiny of the tech giant's news app by the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog, which has accused Apple of a having a "defiant stance against offering news from right-leaning outlets".
