Sky News's new 7 pm show had a discussion last night covering the issue of the level of anti-semitic attacks and the number of local council candidates who are openly stating similar views to the woman above.

I feel Pross is making a joke about the right wing press constantly trying to portray London as some kind of lawless dystopian hellhole.

I imagine the Met is by far the largest and most high profile police force in the country which goes some way to explaining the perception.

This particular case does seem 'odd' to put it mildly though.

Fair, although I would argue it is not just perception, they do also have a fair number of staggering failings over the last few years; Wayne Couzens, David Carrick, Cliff Mitchell, the handling of the Sarah Everard protests, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman murders. It does look like the Met has a problem with its vetting of Officers and its general policing at a level that other forces don't seem to have.

An aspect that seemed "odd" to me watching the report was how our Police forces keep saying how they are over-stretched, not enough resource but after their initial talk with the girl deciding there was no reason for them to act, they spent 15 mins following her. To he that raised questions about them "trying to find something, some reason to apprehend".

Yesterday TV reports and lots of Jewish community leaders demanding the Police/Government do more but I couldn't see what more (even the TV interviewer kept asking "what more" and didn't get much of an answer.

What worried me though was demands for the end to "Hate Marches" and the repeated use of the term "Hate Marches" made me start to wonder if there is some additional agenda being pushed beyond safety?

Jewish communities across the country are feeling very threatened at the moment.
Again on Sky last night, a female Labour peer said their communities cannot publicise any events or gatherings for fear of attack, be it physical or verbal.

I think the issue is the constant conflation between Israel and Jews (on both sides - Israel constantly calling any criticism of the Israeli state anti-Semitic perpetuates the problem, probably deliberately). You do see Pro Palestinian protests extending into being anti-Jewish rather than just anti-Israeli at which point it starts to cross the line. Much the same as when people, whether deliberately or through ignorance, extend Muslim (or other religious) extremism to cover all people who follow that religion.

Protesting against Israel is absolutely fine, protesting against Jewish people isn't.
