No, it's not. None of the other are referencing well-worn and recognised tropes. If one of Badenoch had ink-black skin and exaggerated thick red lips, there would rightfully be outrage.

Can you see any reason why these books aren't still available? They were part of my childhood...

They were part of mine too, and I don't see the distinction you are making. You just happen to be comfortable with the degree of proximity in that instance from selected images of your childhood.

The ultimate test in this country is the press complaints commission. And the balance has to be in favour of freedom of expression. I think there's a possibility that the forked tongue could be judged to be a step too far from the Ghostbusters parody, but the rest will be considered acceptable. That is my guess anyway.

Why is it even mentioned that Zack is Jewish?, do we habitually specify Christian or whatever for politicians?

Perhaps naively I didn't really consider it before now. Or his sexuality.

Google tells me he changed his name aged 18 from an Anglicised version to the historical family name. Okay, I understand that. What I find slightly odd is he changed his name from David to Zacharias at the same time.

(Without defending or opposing mentioning his own religion) My assumption has been it's so when he speaks about the plight of the Palestinians his comments are not countered with " ... you can't understand 'cos you are not Jewish ..." (again conflating Israeli actions with religion).

I mean his birth name is in the title, but okay. Read the early life part and it explains it. I've not verified the sources.
He also changed his first name, selecting Zack in homage to the Jewish character of the same name from the novel Goodnight Mister Tom, and to differentiate himself from his stepfather, also named David,.
So not Zacharias

Re: Polanski
To me the issue isn't about his name change, nor how much he can increase ♀ bust size, nor his being a spokesperson for a charity (or not being a spokesperson), etc.

It’s deeper in that he's a fool who has no knowledge, experience or capability necessary for the power he seeks.

(And I've been voting for Green candidates for quite a few elections and used to be a Green Party member).

He was also a lib dem until some disagreement he had about policy towards Hezbollah that induced him to change party allegiance.

Setting student politics aside I don't see how that one issue can lead to a genuine philosophical switch to all of the other things the greens supposedly represent.
