The report is a whole 4 minutes 27 seconds Brian.
Watch it.
Then comment.

I've watched it, and it's better than the headline. That doesn't undermine my criticism of the headline, which is criticism of the headline (ditto other headlines on the subject from other news organisations). If the news outlets think that getting clicks override responsibility for framing headlines accurately, they are ignoring how headlines drive how issues are perceived in public consciousness. See the 'debate' over climate change. It's not a 'debate' as to whether it's happening just because some nutter says it's not happening, and the media shouldn't reframe it as such, in headlines or otherwise.

Obviously Bluesky is an echo chamber, and these two are woke libs, but this exchange sums up where I'm coming from. And, I think that when the history of the 21st century settles into some sort of vaguely accepted narrative, it'll help show how the world ended up with Trump insanity and fascism because clicks are profitable, and clicks don't have values.

This omits the malign influence of X, of course, which is framing the issues both for GB News and politicians, who *still* seem to be addicted to Musk and his army of MAGA bots.

For me the question of exemptions from UK laws everybody else has to obey according to religion is a separate issue from the murder being discussed.

If we are exempting one religion from UK knife laws should we not also be allowing "Special Lassi" (bhang) to be consumed by Hindus or special exemption from drug laws for Rastafarians, etc.

At what point do you declare UK law as "same for everybody"?

Don't Sikhs have exemption from wearing "crash helmets" when travelling on Motorcycle, and, exemptions on safety headgear in the workplace?

Have the police responded to Farage's claims yet?
I note they were super quick to respond to the Green Party leader retweeting criticism of them kicking a suspect in the head.

The Chief Constable made a statement about politicians needing to be careful with their words but I don't think he specified which one(s). Don't forget that Farage is beyond reproach.
