It depends what the rewards are as to whether it proves an incentive. I'm going to guess online discount vouchers or similar. Yes, as she says, the ones who will be most enthusiastic about it will be the ones already walking regularly; free stuff for no extra effort. My concern is that once again it relies on people having a smart phone and an app and being able to navigate the Internet. Those who might benefit most, eg older people, are least likely to be able to do so.

I do think it sounds like a big effort for what will be minimal return in terms of how many folk benefit but the other ideas offered by the surgeon will require large, expensive, cultural shifts that no government is ready to fund.

More problems with the Lucy Letby case.

Maternity notes for the babies Lucy Letby has been convicted of murdering were not made available to her defence ahead of her trial, the BBC has learned.

The neonatal nurse was convicted of murdering and attempting to murder 14 babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2015 and 2016.

File on 4 Investigates has discovered that maternity notes for the babies in the case - which include details of the mother's pregnancy, labour and birth - were seized by Cheshire Police. But they were not reviewed by the prosecution's chief medical expert or disclosed to Letby's defence.

I think Private Eye is going to be proved right in its doubts eventually, but there's a whole pile of arse-covering going on.

I am not cat expert, but, isn't 19 years old rather old for a cat?

Does this open up. couple of possibilities/questions:

1. Accusations of unreasonably extending the age for receiving Cat-State-Pension
2. The real possibility that Larry will die in. service, requiring a State Funeral, and a National Holiday for a period of mourning, has this been budgeted for?
