Obviously she is taking the money and the equity to promote a betting company which, for many, is morally questionable; however, I have betting accounts, so I won't judge too much.
I find the backlash (or viral success) interesting. After all, she is not a sportswoman and she is not promoting sports. Instead, she is doing a seedy betting advert. She makes the point that a number of top male and female athletes have stripped off for the camera and presumably money, and no doubt when they did, that was all about body positivity and nothing to do with overtly sexualising people in sport.
Yes, you have a good point; she isn't a sportswoman and it's not a sports company as such. It's more akin to the many perfume adverts where male and female actor/actresses get their kit off. It is surprisingly raunchy for the US market as IC noted.
I think there is a bit of baggage and history with sports and women that comes into play though, eg beach volleyball players having to wear bikinis, differences in the skimpiness of M vs F athletics kit, and so on, that doesn't apply to other advertising so much.
